DUST YOUR BOOTS OFF THE OK SHOOTOUT WESTERN OUTFIT COMPETITION!

Get ready for the OK Shootout Western Outfit Competition at the Penticton Speedway on June 22nd! We are thrilled to host this exciting event where participants can show off their best Western attire. Please read the following guidelines to ensure a fun and fair competition for everyone!

Eligibility

Participants of all ages are welcome to enter the competition.

We will have 3 different categories!

1. Adults (18+)

2. Youth (17 and under)

3. Couples (19+)

Authenticity: Costumes should reflect traditional Western

wear, embodying the spirit of the Old West. Think of cowboys, cowgirls, sheriffs, outlaws, or saloon patrons.

Components: Traditional components such as hats, boots, bandanas, and Western-style belts are encouraged. Accessories like holsters, replica firearms (non-functional and

safe), spurs and lassos can be included but must adhere to safety guidelines.

Creativity: While traditional attire is encouraged, creativity in your presentation is also valued. Unique interpretations that maintain a Western theme are welcome. Think outside of the box like a Saloon owner, Bandit, Woody and Jessie. Get creative with it for the best chance to win!

Craftsmanship: Attention to detail and craftsmanship will be considered in the judging process.

Registration

Registration is required to participate. Please register at the event booth upon arrival. (There is no entry fee)

All costume weapons must be clearly fake and non-functional. Safety checks will be conducted at the registration booth. Avoid using any materials that are sharp or could cause harm to yourself or others.

Awards

Prizes will be awarded for the best in each category. A special "Crowd Favorite" award will be decided by audience applause. Winners will receive Seasons passes to the Penticton Speedway for the rest of the 2024 season and Penticton Speedway merchandise

General Rules

Be respectful to all participants and staff. Inappropriate behavior may lead to disqualification. Have fun, but please remember to keep the competition friendly and inclusive.
